I'm Johannes, founder of
Oehmen Digital Studio.

I help studios find the right toolset for the way they actually work, and then make it work. Render management, pipeline, virtual workstations, storage: the answer comes from your projects, your data, your people and your budget, not from a product catalogue. On-premise, hybrid and cloud are all real answers, and I have recommended each of them.

I lead the advisory work and stay on your project throughout. Our specialists build it: technical directors, developers, systems administrators and cloud engineers, scaled to what the project actually needs. Everyone on it has done this work before, so you get senior people without the layers of a large consultancy. Oehmen Digital Studio is an AWS partner, one of few worldwide specialised in rendering and visual compute.

We work close to the people who build these tools. I have helped design integrations like AYON and AWS Deadline Cloud, connecting open-source pipeline tooling to managed cloud rendering, and we say plainly what fits and what does not, including the limitations of what we recommend. I share what I learn openly through writing, webinars, and talks at industry events including FMX and the AYON Summit, with a keynote at the VFX Planet Summit in Cairo on 5 September.

Before all of this I was on the other side of the render queue. Car photography led to automotive CGI, then to my own studio, then to a decade of running into hardware ceilings, which is how I ended up in cloud. I sat in the artist's chair before I sat in the architect's, and it still decides how we build things. Our approach is built on honest, data-driven advice and a simple belief: technology should work for artists, so the people behind the pixels stay at the centre.
